Holton Hill will not be with the Vikings for the first half of the 2019 season.

On Tuesday ESPN reported that the 22-year-old cornerback was suspended an additional four games for violation of the league's substance abuse policy.

Hill had previously received a four-game suspension in April for violation of the league's use of performance enhancing drugs. The additional suspension means the veteran defensive back will now be out the first eight games of the season.

The 6'2/196 pound defensive back was signed by the Vikings as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2018. He played in all 16 games for the team where he amassed 36 tackles, seven pass deflections and one interception.

Hill will be able to practice and play through training camp and preseason but won't be available in the regular season until Week 9 against the Chiefs.
