Linebacker Derrick Morgan retires from the NFL

Derrick Morgan is permanently hanging up his cleats.

On Monday the 30-year-old announced his retirement from the NFL.

The 6'4/261 pound linebacker was a ferocious tackler coming out of Georgia Tech and was drafted in number 16 overall in the first round by the Tennessee Titans. Morgan would go onto spend his entire nine year career with the team. He was released this offseason before announcing his retirement.

In his nine year NFL career Morgan amassed 305 tackles, 44.5 sacks, 26 pass deflections, five forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.
