Just ahead of training camp the Seahawks made a move to shore up their defensive line.

On Wednesday ESPN reported that Seattle signed defensive tackle Earl Mitchell. The signing comes just one day after defensive tackle Jarran Reed was suspended the first six games of the 2019 season.

Mitchell was drafted in the third round by the Texans in 2010. He spent four years in Houston before signing with the Dolphins in 2014. He would spend three years in Miami before being released and being signed by the 49ers where he spent the last two seasons.

In his nine year NFL career the 31-year-old defensive lineman has played in 130 games and amassed 268 tackles, 6.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and nine pass deflections.
