After an eight day holdout, Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch finally reported to camp on Thursday. The move came at a cost to the team.
Seahawks have agreed to pay Lynch $6.5 million this season. He was originally scheduled to make $5 million. The additional pay comes from a $500,000 pregame roster bonus, $500,000 if he rushed for 1,500 yards and $500,000 from his 2015 salary.
The team will also waive the nearly $500,000 in fines he accumulated during his holdout. He must still pass a physical in order to be added to the active 90-man roster.
Lynch has averaged over 1,350 yards on 300 carries and amassed 39 touchdowns in the last three seasons with the Seahawks. He is their most prolific offensive weapon.
