The Broncos lost a key member of their defense as Danny Trevathan suffered an injury.
In practice on Tuesday, Trevathan fell to the ground during a running play. Back-up center Will Montgomery rolled over Trevathan when both hit the ground. Trevathan immediately grabbed for his knee and was carted off the field after several minutes.
Test later revealed that Trevathan suffered an impact fracture on his tibia and will be out four to eight weeks recovering.
Trevathan is a vital player on the Broncos defense. He is a three down linebacker with skill to play both the run and the pass so his loss to the weak side is significant.
Veteran Brandon Marshall and rookies Lamin Barrow and Corey Nelson will fill in for Trevathan in the coming weeks.
