The Raiders lost one of their kick returners in a preseason loss on Friday.
Running back Kory Sheets announced via his Twitter that he had sustained a season ending Achilles injury during the Raiders 31-21 loss to the Packers in Green Bay.
Sheets was signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue in 2009. He later played with the Miami Dolphins and Carolina Panthers before signing with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.
Sheets had his best season in professional football with the Roughriders where he gained the second most yards ever in a championship game and was named the 2013 Grey Cup Most Valuable Player. He signed with the Raiders in the off-season.
With Sheets lost for the season the kick and punt return duties now fall to running back Latavius Murray.
