San Francisco has become the latest casualty of the injury bug.
ESPN Adam Schefter reports that the 49ers defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey is expected to miss the rest of the season with a torn bicep muscle.
Dorsey injured his left arm during Friday's practice, which also happened to be his birthday. He will have surgery on Monday to repair the tear.
Dorsey is set to become a free agent after this season so the injury is a major setback for his future with the team. He was drafted number 5 overall in 2008 by Kansas City and played five lackluster seasons for the Chiefs before signing with the 49ers in 2013 where he has had tremendous success at nose tackle.
49ers have Quinton Dial and Ian Williams to replace the injured Dorsey.
