Bears received bad news on Friday in their already depleted tight end corp.
Tight end Zach Miller will be out for the season due to a foot injury he suffered during the Bears preseason victory over the Jaguars.
Miller was trying to make the team as a backup behind starter Martellus Bennett and backup Dante Rosario.
Miller had six catches for 68 yards and two touchdowns in the first preseason game for the Bears.
Miller played in 29 games in his first two seasons in the NFL from 2009-2010 but hasn't been on an active roster since 2011. He spent 2012 on the Jaguars injured reserve list and was waived by the Buccaneers prior to the start of the 2013 regular season.
