The end of an era has finally come in Seattle.

On Thursday the Seahawks released wide receiver Doug Baldwin and safety Kam Chancellor for failed physicals.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider released a statement about both players:

"The Seahawks have made the difficult decision to terminate/failed physical Doug Baldwin and Kam Chancellor. These are two of the most iconic players in franchise history, and both were instrumental in establishing our championship culture, great examples of competitiveness and leadership on the field and in the community. These legendary players will always be a part of our Seahawks family."

Baldwin spent eight years in Seattle and was a 2x Pro Bowler and 2015 NFL receiving touchdowns leader. The Super Bowl 48 champion amassed 493 receptions for 6,563 yards and 49 receiving touchdowns.

Chancellor has spent nine years with the team, though hasn't played since 2017. The 31-year-old was a 4x Pro Bowler and  2x Second Team All Pro. The Super Bowl 48 champion amassed 606 tackles, two sacks, 12 interceptions, 44 pass deflections and nine forced fumbles.

With both men still dealing with injuries it is likely this is the end of both of their playing careers.
