On Wednesday the Jets announced the firing of general manager Mike Maccagnan and vice president of player personnel Brian Heimerdinger. Adam Gase was named interim general manager.
The decision to fire Maccagnan comes just three weeks after the draft. Jets owner Chris Johnson stated the decision to terminate Maccagnan "a decision that evolved and took a while."
The Jets search for a new general manager will begin immediately. Johnson advised Gase Gase will assist with the search.
