After sitting out the first few days of training camp for a new contract, Michael Thomas got his wish.

On Wednesday ESPN reported that the 26-year-old wide receiver signed a 5 year, $100 million contract extension with the New Orleans Saints, including a $20 million signing bonus, $61 million guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $20 million.

The new deal makes Thomas the highest paid wide receiver in the NFL. He is also the first non-quarterback to sign a $100 million deal.

The veteran pass catcher has been Drew Brees top target since his arrival in New Orleans in 2016. Since that time Thomas has been a 2x Pro Bowler, a First Team All Pro and the 2018 NFL receptions leader and amassed 321 receptions for 3,787 receiving yards and 23 receiving touchdowns.

Thomas is now locked in with the Saints through the 2024 season.
