On Tuesday the New York Post reported that the 32-year-old was retiring from the NFL for a job as a college football analyst for ESPN.
Sanchez was drafted in the first round by the New York Jets in 2009. He spent five years with the Jets where he would lead the team to the playoffs in his first two seasons. His career took a nose dive and eventually was released in 2014. He would bounce around the league spending time with the Eagles, Broncos, Cowboys, Bears and Redskins.
Sanchez will join Kevin Negandhi and Jon Vilma in studio replacing Mack Brown who left to coach North Carolina.
