Falcons defensive tackle Michael Bennett will not be on the field when the season opens for the team.
On Monday the team reported that the 26-year-old suffered a broken ankle during the first day of practice and would be out indefinitely.
The team already lost two of their defensive players for the season- defensive end Steven Means was to a torn Achilles during OTAs and safety J.J. Wilcox was lost to a torn ACL during the Falcons first day of practice.
Bennett was set to compete for a starting role this season, but those plans are on hold for the foreseeable future.
No timetable has been set yet for his return.
