Texans are in need of a backup to their starting running back Arian Foster, but Andre Brown will not be that player. Brown was released by the Texans on Monday along with fellow running back Dennis Johnson.
The two players were replaced by running back Ronnie Brown, who played for the Chargers for the last two seasons and William Powell who has not played since 2012.
Brown scored three touchdowns for the Giants last season so had no idea what prompted the Texans to cut him.
Starting running back Arian Foster did not play in Texans first preseason game as he missed most of training camp with leg injuries. Jonathan Grimes has been the starter with rookie Alfred Blue backing him up.
