Broncos Montee Ball Set to Have Appendectomy

Montee Ball will not be seen this preseason for the Broncos.

ESPN reports Ball will undergo an appendectomy on Monday which will effectively end his chances of practicing or playing this preseason. He is expected to be healthy in time to return for the regular season.

Ball was drafted in the second round in 2013. In his rookie season he amassed 559 yards on 20 carries and four touchdowns. With Knowshon Moreno having left via free agency, Ball is the expectd replacement to pick up the carries. Moreno had over 1,000 yards rushing last season.
