Week 16 Predictions

NFL Girl finished a great 11-5 last week. So let's get started on this week:

Carolina Panthers (2-12) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (10-4)

The Steelers have the #1 ranked rush defense against RBs Jonathan Stewart & Mike Goodson and the 3rd ranked pass rushing defense against a highly unreliable Jimmy Clausen. This game won't be pretty. Prediction: Steelers

Dallas Cowboys (5-9) vs Arizona Cardinals (4-10)

Cowboys come in off a win last week against the Redskins at home. QB Jon Kitna completed 25 of 37 for 305 yds and 2 TDs. TE Jason Witten had 10 catches for 140 yds and 1 TD. RB Tashard Choice rushed for 1 additional TD. Cowboys rush defense has been good this season but will need to address their pass defense in the off-season. Cardinals come in off a loss to the Panthers in Carolina last week. QB John Skelton threw 0 TDs and 1 INT. WR Larry Fitzgerald had 9 catches for 125 yds but 0 TDs. Their running game has disappeared and the inconsistency at QB has been a season killer. Not even a mediocre injury plagued defense can salvage the rest of their season. Prediction: Cowboys

Tennessee Titans (6-8) vs Kansas City Chiefs (9-5)

Titans come in off a win against the Texans at home last week. QB Kerry Collins completed 14 of 24 for 237 yds 2 TDs and 1 INT with WR Nate Washington catching 1 of the TD passes. RB Chris Johnson rushed 24 times for 130 yds and 1 additional TD. Titans defense has played sloppy up til last week so need to continue playing at that level. Chiefs come in off a win against the Rams in St. Louis last week. QB Matt Cassel completed 15 of 29 for 184 yds 1 TD and 1 INT. RB Jamaal Charles had 11 rushes for 126 yds and 1 additional TD. Chiefs defense looked good last week and will need it to make a push into the postseason. Prediction: Chiefs

Baltimore Ravens (10-4) vs Cleveland Browns (5-9)

Ravens still have 1 of the best defenses in the league. Browns have a future with QB Colt McCoy but first must find a defense that can stop run or the deep pass. Prediction: Ravens

New England Patriots (12-2) vs Buffalo Bills (4-10)

Pats look to be unstoppable. Bills have a decent offense but will need to fix their defensive issues in the offseason. Prediction: Patriots

San Francisco 49ers (5-9) vs St Louis Rams (6-8)

49ers come in off a blowout loss to the Chargers last week in San Diego. QB Alex Smith threw 0 TD and 1 INT. They have decided to start QB Troy Smith this week. Defensively the 49ers will need to work on their rush defense in the offseason. Rams come in off a loss to the Chiefs last week at home. QB Sam Bradford threw 0 TDs and 2 INTs. RB Steven Jackson rushed for the only TD the Rams scored. Rams defense is horrible against the run and will need to fix this during the offseason. Prediction: Rams

Detroit Lions (4-10) vs Miami Dolphins (7-7)

Lions come in off a win last week against the Bucs in Tampa Bay. They have yet to announce whether QB Drew Stanton or Shaun Hill will be their starter as both QBs are banged up. They desperately need some production out of their running game which has suffered due to RB Jahvid Best's injured toe. Lions struggle in their pass defense. Dolphins come in off a loss against the Bills at home last week. QB Chad Henne completed 33 of 45 for 276 yds 1 TD and 1 INT with WR Brandon Marshall receiving 11 catches for 106 yds and Henne's 1 TD pass. RB Ronnie Brown rushed for 1 additional TD. Dolphins have a mediocre defense. Prediction: Dolphins

Washington Redskins (5-9) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (8-6)

Redskins are a terrible team. They have gone with QB Rex Grossman for the rest of the season. Their defense is easily killed with the deep pass. Jaguars come in off a loss to the Colts last week in Indianapolis. They are 2nd in their division and are making a push to get into the playoffs. This should be an easy win to help them get there. Prediction: Jaguars

New York Jets (10-4) vs Chicago Bears (10-4)

Jets come in off a win last week against the Steelers in Pittsburgh. QB Mark Sanchez rushed for 1 TD and WR Brad Smith scored a TD on the opening kickoff. Jets have been struggling the last few weeks on offense but their defense has stayed tough throughout the season. Bears come in over the Vikings in Minnesota last week. QB Jay Cutler completed 14 of 24 for 194 yds 3 TDs and 1 INT with WR Johnny Knox catching 1 of the TD passes. Bears defense is solid and need a final push to clinch their playoff spot. Prediction: Jets

Houston Texans (5-9) vs Denver Broncos (3-11)

Texans have a good offense with a disappointing defense. Broncos are just a complete disappointment. This will not be a good game. Prediction: Texans

Indianapolis Colts (8-6) vs Oakland Raiders (7-7)

Colts come in off a win against the Jaguars at home last week. Raiders come in off a win against the Broncos last week at home. Colts lead their division while the Raiders are in 3rd fighting for a fading chance of the playoffs. They havent beaten any good teams this season. Predicition: Colts

San Diego Chargers (8-6) vs Cincinnati Bengals (3-11)

Chargers are just 1 game back of the Chiefs and are fighting for a playoff spot. They are a team known for making a push in the month of December. Bengals are a disappointment who just loss Terrell Owens for the season. Dont expect a good matchup. Prediction: Chargers

Seattle Seahawks (6-8) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-6)

Both these teams come in off a loss last week. Seahawks are in 2nd in the terrible NFC West division while the Bucs are in 3rd in the strong NFC South division. Bucs have a very tough defense while Seahawks have been struggling on offense. Prediction: Bucs

New York Giants (8-4) vs Green Bay Packers (8-4)

Giants come in off a loss last week to the Eagles at home. QB Eli Manning completed 23 of 39 for 289 yds 4 TDs and 1 INT with WR Hakeem Nicks receiving 1 of those TDs. Their defense has been tough but a little inconsistent. Packers come in off a loss to the Patriots in New England last week. QB Aaron Rodgers is returning this week from a concussion suffered in Week 14. They have a really good defense and hopefully the return of Rodgers will help them get back on the winning track. Prediction: Packers

Minnesota Vikings (5-9) vs Philadelphia Eagles (10-4)

Vikings are a terrible team who cannot consistently score. They are most likely without QB Brett Favre who is suffering from multiple injuries. Eagles meanwhile lead the NFC East division and come in off a convincing win over the Giants last week. They have a superb offense behind the arm of QB Michael Vick. This will not be a great game. Prediction: Eagles

New Orleans Saints (10-4) vs Atlanta Falcons (12-2)

Saints are in 2nd place behind the Falcons in the NFC South division. They come in off a loss last week to the Ravens and are fighting to make the playoffs. Falcons meanwhile have clinched a playoff spot and are playing just for homefield advantage. The Falcons are a superb team on both sides of the ball. This will be a great matchup and a good game. Prediction: Falcons
