Week 9 Predictions

Atlanta Falcons (5-3) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-4)

Falcons come in off a win last week to the Packers. QB Matt Ryan completed 28 of 35 for 288 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Devonta Freeman rushed for one touchdown. The defense ranks seventh most in yards allowed per game. The team will be without defensive end Dwight Freeney, tight end Tevin Coleman and tight end Jacob Tamme.

Buccaneers come in off a loss last week to the Raiders. QB Jameis Winston completed 16 of 32 for 180 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Jacquizz Rodgers rushed for one touchdown, but will be out for this matchup. The defense is ranked 23rd against the pass.The team will be without defensive tackle Clinton McDonald, running backs Doug Martin and Jacquizz Rodgers and wide receiver Russell Shepard is doubtful.

Buccaneers lead the series 24-22 but Falcons will prevail in this matchup. Prediction: Falcons

Dallas Cowboys (6-1) vs Cleveland Browns (0-8)

Cowboys come in off a win last week to the Eagles. QB Dak Prescott completed 19 of 39 for 287 yards two passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown and one interception. Wide receiver Dez Bryant made four receptions for 113 yards and one touchdown. The defense hasn't allowed a single 100 yard rusher or receiver so far this season.The team will be without cornerback Morris Claiborne and running back Darren McFadden.

Browns come in off a loss last week to the Jets. QB Josh McCown completed 25 of 49 for 341 yards two touchdowns and two interceptions. Running back Isaiah Crowell rushed for one touchdown. The defense gives up an average of 30 points per game.

Browns lead the series 17-13 but the Cowboys will not be beaten this week. Prediction: Cowboys

Jacksonville Jaguars (2-5) vs Kansas City Chiefs (5-2)

Jaguars come in off a loss last week to the Titans. QB Blake Bortles completed 33 of 54 for 337 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Allen Hurns made seven receptions for 98 yards and one touchdown. The defense is last in takeaways. The team fired their offensive coordinator this week in hopes to turn their season around.

Chiefs come in off a win last week to the Colts. QB Nick Foles completed 16 of 22 for 223 yards and two touchdowns. Tight end Travis Kelce made seven receptions for 101 yards and one touchdown. The defense leads the league in interceptions. The team has lost running back Jamaal Charles and offensive lineman Parker Ehinger for the season and will be without linebacker Justin Houston for the matchup. Defensive back D.J. White is doubtful as well.

Jaguars lead the series 6-4 but with the atrocious defense will not be able to win this weekend.  Prediction: Chiefs

New York Jets (3-5) vs Miami Dolphins (3-4)

Jets come in off a win last week to the Browns. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 16 of 34 for 228 yards and one touchdown. Wide receiver Quincy Enunwa made four receptions for 93 yards and one touchdown. The defense is first in yards allowed per game.

Dolphins come in off their bye last week.QB Ryan Tannehill has a passer rating of 87.5 so far this season.The defense ranks 30th in rushing yards allowed per game. The team lost safety Reshad Jones for the season and will be without cornerback Chris Culliver for the matchup.

Jets lead the series 53-47-1 and should get the win this weekend. Prediction: Jets

Detroit Lions (4-4) vs Minnesota Vikings (5-1)

Lions come in off a loss last week to the Texans. QB Matthew Stafford completed 27 of 41 for 240 yards and one touchdown with running back Theo Riddick making the lone touchdown catch. The defense is ranked last against third down conversions. The team lost tight end Cole Wick for the season and linebacker DeAndre Levy for the matchup.

Vikings come in off a loss last week against the Bears. The offense is ranked last and their offensive coordinator resigned this week. QB Sam Bradford completed 23 of 37 for 228 yards and one touchdown going to wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The defense ranks third against the run and fourth against the pass.

Vikings lead the series 71-36-2 and the stout defense should be able to keep them winning.  Prediction: Vikings

Philadelphia Eagles (4-3) vs New York Giants (4-3)

Eagles come in off a loss last week to the Cowboys. QB Carson Wentz completed 32 of 43 for 202 yards and one touchdown to wide receiver Jordan Matthews. Running back Ryan Matthews rushed for one touchdown. The defense is fourth ranked scoring defense.

Giants come in off their bye last week. QB Eli Manning has a passer rating of 87.3 so far this season. The defense is ranked 15th against the pass.

Giants lead the series 84-80-2 but Eagles defense should be able to keep them in check.  Prediction: Eagles

Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3) vs Baltimore Ravens (3-4)

Steelers come in off their bye last week.QB Ben Roethlisberger is questionable in this week's matchup. He has a passer rating of 99.2 so far this season.The defense is ranked 31st in turnovers.

Ravens come in off their bye last week. QB Joe Flacco has a passer rating of 75.4 so far this season. The defense is ranked fourth against the run.

The Steelers lead the series 24-20 and should beat the struggling Ravens. Prediction: Steelers

Carolina Panthers (2-5) vs Los Angeles Rams (3-4)

Panthers come in off a win last week to the Cardinals. QB Cam Newton completed 14 of 27 for 212 yards. Running back Jonathan Stewart rushed for 95 yards on 25 carries and two touchdowns. The defense ranks 20th overall. Linebacker Shaq Thompson, defensive tackle Vernon Butler and offensive tackle Michael Oher will be out for the matchup.

Rams come in off their bye last week.QB Case Keenum has a passer rating of 77.5 so far this season. The defense ranks 11th overall.

Panthers lead the series 12-8 and will win in L.A. on Sunday. Prediction: Panthers

New Orleans Saints (3-4) vs San Francisco 49ers (1-6)

Saints come in off a win last week to the Seahawks. QB Drew Brees completed 27 of 35 for 265 yards and one touchdown. Running back Tim Hightower rushed for 102 yards on 26 carries. The defense leads the league in interceptions.

49ers come in off their bye last week. QB Colin Kaepernick has a passer rating of 66.2 so far this season. The defense is ranked last against the rush.

49ers lead the series 48-25-2 but will not beat the Saints on Sunday. Prediction: Saints

Indianapolis Colts (3-5) vs Green Bay Packers (4-3)

Colts come in off a loss last week to the Chiefs. QB Andrew Luck completed 19 of 35 for 210 yards two touchdowns and one interception with one touchdown going to wide receiver Donte Montcrief. The defense ranks 30th in total defense.

Packers come in off a loss last week to the Falcons. QB Aaron Rodgers completed 28 of 38 for 246 yards and four touchdowns with one going to wide receiver Jordy Nelson. The defense ranks seventh overall.

Colts lead matchup series 22-21-1 but Packers better defense will prevail. Prediction: Packers

Tennessee Titans (4-4) vs San Diego Chargers (3-5)

Titans come in off a win last week to the Jaguars. QB Marcus Mariota completed 18 of 22 for 270 yards and two touchdowns with one going to wide receiver Kendall Wright. Running back DeMarco Murray rushed for 123 yards on 21 carries and one touchdown and running back Derrick Henry rushed for one additional touchdown. The defense is third in sacks this season. The team will be without guard Quinton Spain.

Chargers come in off a loss last week to the Broncos. QB Philip Rivers completed 20 of 47 for 267 yards two touchdowns and three interceptions. Running back Melvin Gordon rushed for 111 yards on 23 carries. The defense is ranked seventh against the run.The team will be without tight end Hunter Henry.

Chargers lead the series 26-17-1 and will get the win at home Sunday. Prediction: Chargers

Denver Broncos (6-2) vs Oakland Raiders (6-2)

Broncos come in off a win last week to the Chargers. QB Trevor Siemian completed 20 of 38 for 276 yards and one interception. Running back Devontae Booker rushed for one touchdown but is questionable for Sunday's matchup. The defense is ranked third overall.

Raiders come in off a win last week to the Buccaneers. QB Derek Carr completed 40 of 59 for 513 yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver Amari Cooper rushed for 173 yards and one touchdown. The defense is among the worst in yards allowed.

Raiders lead the series 61-50-2 and will win at home Sunday night. Prediction: Raiders

Buffalo Bills (4-4) vs Seattle Seahawks (4-2-1)

Bills come in off a loss last week to the Patriots. QB Tyrod Taylor completed 19 of 38 for 183 yards and one rushing touchdown. Running back Mike Gillislee rushed for 85 yards on 12 carries and one touchdown. The defense is ranked 26th against the run.

Seahawks come in off a loss last week to the Saints. QB Russell Wilson completed 22 of 34 for 253 yards and one interception. Running back Christine Michael rushed for one touchdown. The defense ranks in the top 10 against the run and pass.

Seahawks lead the matchup series 7-5 and will win at home Monday night. Prediction: Seahawks
