Sharper is charged with multiple counts of drugging and raping women. He was being held in Los Angeles County on two counts in California. A grand jury in Arizona indicted Sharper on two counts of sexual assault and three counts of administering dangerous drugs.
He is under investigation for assaults in Louisiana, Nevada and Florida.
New Orleans police have issued an arrest warrant for Sharper. Another man, Eric Nunez, was charged with two counts of aggravated rape and released on $400,000 bond on Monday in the New Orleans case.
A case is still under investigation in Miami Beach.
A five time pro bowl player, Sharper played for the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints during his fourteen year NFL career. After retiring, he worked as an analyst for NFL Network, before being terminated due to the ongoing investigation.
