Key Injuries of the Week

Well I guess we have to start at the top with the loss of QB Tony Romo for the Cowboys. Romo suffered a broken left clavicle in the Cowboys loss to the Giants on Monday night. He is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. Cowboys are currently 1-5 and losing their star QB til at least week 13 may be the final undoing of their season. They will start the veteran Jon Kitna in his absence.

49ers are without their starting QB as well as QB Alex Smith suffered a separated left shoulder that will have him sidelined for the next 2-3 weeks. Troy Smith will get the start in his place.

Bengals CB Pacman Jones suffered a herniated disk in his neck and has been placed on injured reserve for the remainder of the season. This is disheartening considering he was having a good year thus far.

The Steelers DE Aaron Smith is out indefinitely after having surgery to repair a torn tricep tendon in his left arm. Whether or not he will be able to come back this season remains to be seen.

Vikings QB Brett Favre has a stress fracture in his left ankle and an avulsion fracture in the heel bone of the same foot. He is probable for this Sunday. He has 291 consecutive starts so his likelihood of missing the game even with the injuries is slim. However if he is unable to go, Tavaris Jackson would get the start in his place.
