On Tuesday Ian Rapoport reported that Buffalo was signing the blocking tight end to a three-year, $9 million contract.
The 31-year-old spent the last four seasons with the Raiders after spending the previous four seasons with the Bills.
Smith, who is known for his blocking ability in the run game, has amassed 56 receptions for 392 yards and seven touchdowns in his eight-year NFL career.
