Murray took to Twitter to and posted a statement that he is committing himself full time to becoming a NFL quarterback.
The 2018 Heisman Trophy winner will return $1.29 million of the $1.5 million signing bonus he received so far and forfeit the remaining $3.16 million. Oakland Athletics will still retain Murray's rights but won't get a compensatory pick. Athletics drafted him ninth overall last season.
Murray passed for over 4,300 yards and 42 touchdowns last season. He is expected to be a highly coveted draft pick likely to go in the early first round.
