Kareem Hunt may have returned to football, but he won't be returning to the field any time soon.
On Friday the league announced their decision to suspend Hunt for the first eight games of the 2019 season for violation of the league's personal conduct policy.
The suspension will start after the final roster cuts on August 31st. He will be eligible to return for the team's ninth game of the season.
Hunt released a statement via the Browns' Twitter taking responsibility for his actions and accepting the league's decision. Hunt also stated he will not appeal the length of his suspension.
Hunt was placed on the Commissioner's Exempt list last November before being released by the Chiefs. The Browns signed Hunt back in February reuniting him with John Dorsey who recruited him out of Toledo.
